DT Toolbox app for iPhone and iPad

The horsepower (HP) calculation app will determine the HP required for the compression of natural gas. Simply enter the suction pressure, discharge pressure and flow rate of the natural gas stream and the app will calculate the compression ratio and the HP required to compress the gas. The app also calculates how many stages of reciprocating compression are needed to achieve the overall compression ratio.

The app is equipped to work with imperial (HP, psi, mmscfd) or metric (kW, kPa, E3M3/d) units of measure.

The horsepower calculation app uses a gas analysis with a specific gravity of 0.65 and a specific heat ratio of 1.26. Atmospheric pressure is taken as 14.7 psia and a suction temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit is used.

The DT Toolbox app now contains a Unit Conversion Calculator! The new functionality will convert values between various units of measure for many different properties. Simply select the property, enter the value in the units of measure you know and DT Toolbox will convert that value into all other available units of measure for that property. The app is able to convert values for Length, Power, Temperature, Weight, Pressure, Gas Flow, Oil Flow, Area and Density into multiple different units of measure.
